What is Manual Handling?
The manual handling operations (MHO) is defined in the Regulations as; ‘any transporting or supporting of a load (including the lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying, or moving thereof) by hand or bodily force’. The regulations apply to any process where manual handling occurs and offers a framework to help to reduce the number of accidents and injuries from these procedures.
